Common misunderstandings about evolution

Most people think they already know at least the basic principles of Darwin's theory of evolution but there are lot of misunderstandings out there amongst the general public. For instance did you know that there is very little about the evolution of humans in The Origin of Species. Finches are the species most discussed. And Darwin never coined the term “Survival of the fittest”. That was down to Herbert Spencer – although Darwin did use it later in his writings. This page helps to dismiss some of those misunderstandings.
